Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek
A 7-12 day trek into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater surrounded by Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. The base camp sits at 4,130m.
Annapurna Circuit Trek
The classic 12-21 day circuit circumnavigating the entire Annapurna massif, crossing the Thorong La pass at 5,416m. Landscapes shift from rice paddies to alpine deserts.
Poon Hill

Best Time to Visit
October to November is ideal with clear skies and colorful autumn foliage. March to April brings warmer temperatures and spectacular rhododendron blooms at mid-altitudes. December to February is cold at higher elevations but quieter. The Thorong La pass may close temporarily due to snow.
How to Get There
Most treks begin from Pokhara. For ABC and Poon Hill, drive or take a local bus to Nayapul (1.5 hours from Pokhara). For the Annapurna Circuit, drive to Besisahar (4-5 hours from Pokhara) or Chame (6-7 hours via jeep). Some trekkers fly into Jomsom from Pokhara for the upper circuit.
Costs & Tips
ACAP permit costs NPR 3,000. TIMS card is NPR 2,000. Teahouse meals and rooms cost $15-30/day. A trekking guide costs $25-30/day, porters $15-18/day. The Poon Hill trek can be done for under $300 total; the full circuit runs $800-1,500 depending on duration and style.
